Col. Michael Gough, Marine Aircraft Group 13 commanding officer, returns from his last flight as MAG-13 commander at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz. May 21. Gough will turn over command of MAG-13 to Col. Chris McPhillips Thurs, May 24 aboard MCAS Yuma during a formal ceremony. Gough, who took command of MAG-13 in May 2010 and oversaw the build-up and arrival of the F-35B Lightning II to MCAS Yuma, will transfer to Camp Pendleton and serve as the I Marine Expeditionary Force Chief of Staff. When asked about his final flight, Gough stated, "Well, it was awesome. I started flying with VMA-211 over 20 years ago and could have chosen any squadron to fly with but it was nostalgic to fly with them (Wake Island Avengers) again."
