Marines and their families rode the Fox Sports San Diego fan bus to the San Diego Padres game against the Washington Nationals May 19 for Marine Corps Appreciation Day at Petco Field. According to the Padre’s, every Sunday home game is considered a military appreciation day. The bus was provided by Fox Sports San Diego and the tickets were given free-of-charge to the participating military families.
The bus shuttled the fans from the Commissary here at the gates of Petco Field. “It’s neat to have that ‘Ooh-Rah’ feeling from the community,” said Jamie Buchanan, wife of Gunnery Sgt. Scott Buchanan, “It’s a great experience to have and nice to pull everyone together for an event like this.”
