Equipment Operator 1st Class Fred Spencer assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 17 uses and excavator to level an area where Hescos will be placed to support a bridge project. Seabees from NMCB 17 and the U.S. Army's 814th Multi-Role Bridge Company are working together on a large scale bridge building project located in Western Iraq. Seabees are taking the lead moving an estimated 70 thousand cubic yards of earth to aid in completion of the 300 meter Maybey-Johnson Float Bridge that will across the Euphrates River. When complete the project will help increase local commerce, trade, and travel for the Iraqi population in the area.
