Equipment Operator Constructionman Ricardo Brambila assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 17 conducts a security watch while fellow Seabees prepare an area on the banks of the Euphrates River that will be the location for the main platform for a large bridge project. Seabees from NMCB-17 and the U.S. Army's 814th Multi-Role Bridge Company are working together on a large scale bridge building project located in Western Iraq. Seabees are taking the lead moving an estimated 70 thousand cubic yards of earth to aid in completion of the 300 meter Maybey-Johnson Float Bridge that will span the Euphrates River. When complete the project will help increase local commerce, trade, and travel for the Iraqi population in the area.
