The 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team commander, Col. Randy Powell, talks about the significance of the 30th Infantry Division and importance of the monument released in their honor at the National Infantry Museum Walk of Honor at Fort Benning, June 2, 2013. Soldiers from World War II and the modern day 30th ABCT took part in the ceremony that honored the unit for their service from past to present. The division was named after former president and citizen soldier Andrew "Old Hickory" Jackson, who was born near the North and South Carolina border. “Here’s to you Old Hickory … To all past, present, and future,” said Powell. “You are the rarest of breeds … You are and always will be Old Hickory!” (U.S. Army National Guard Photo by Army 1st Lt.
