(From left to right) Commander Col. Randy Powell and Deputy Commander Col. Sonny Simpson, 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team leaders, have their picture taken at the new 30th Infantry Division and 30th ABCT monument at the National Infantry Museum Walk of Honor at Fort Benning, June 2, 2013. The two leaders were part of a host of soldiers from World War II and the modern day 30th ABCT took part in the ceremony that honored the unit for their service from past to present. The 30th ABCT deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, serving in 2004 in the Diyala Province and again in 2009 near Baghdad and the Sunni Triangle. For their efforts, every battalion in the 30th earned the esteemed Meritorious Unit Citation from the Department of the Army. (U.S. Army National Guard Photo by Army 1st Lt.
