Artillerymen from the 82nd Airborne Division, deployed to New Orleans to support the Hurricane Katrina relief effort, search a duplex in the city Tuesday, looking for eight cats who were left behind after its former resident was evacuated. The bowl of cat food on the ground was originally intended to lure the cats from their "hiding places", but after the troops found none of the cats, the food was left behind to feed the cats whenever the cats returned. Water was also donated by the soldiers for the cats. hkat
