An Ohio Army National Guard UH 60 Blackhawk helicopter drops a sandbag into a hole in the levee separating the canal from adjoining neighborhoods in New Orleans. The Blackhawk crew was working to seal the breach in the wall damaged by Hurricane Katrina. When the levee broke, canal waters flooded low-lying residential areas of the Crescent City. The helicopter, part of Joint Task Force Buckeye, Ohio's military response to aid the residents of the storm battered gulf coast, is assigned to the 1-137th Assault Helicopter Battalion, based at Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base, Columbus, Ohio. hkat
