Marines from Headquarters and Service Battalion, Parris Island, S.C., and Marine Wing Support Squadron 272, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, prepare to serve a hot meal to recruits of Oscar Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, during Basic Warrior Training on June 25, 2013, on Parris Island, S.C. The Marines served recruits hot meals as a training event to better familiarize themselves with operations and equipment they may use in the field or on a deployment. Food service Marines on Parris Island rarely have an opportunity to further train in their military occupational specialty since civilians operate the mess halls here.
