Recruits receive hot meals during Basic Warrior Training on June 25, 2013, on Parris Island, S.C. Marines from Headquarters and Service Battalion, Parris Island, S.C., and Marine Wing Support Squadron 272 from the nearby Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, served recruits of Oscar Company, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, hot meals as a training event to better familiarize themselves with operations and equipment they may use in the field or on a deployment. Food service Marines on Parris Island rarely have an opportunity to further train in their military occupational specialty since civilians operate the mess halls here. The food service Marines plan to hold this type of training twice a year on Parris Island. (Photo by Lance Cpl. David Bessey)
