Explorer William Thompson, center, with the Yuma County Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, is held by two other explorers during the demonstration of stun gun techniques as a part of their rigorous week-long training, July 17. “It’s an opportunity for career exploring in the law enforcement field for youth from the ages 14-20 who are interested in law enforcement,” said Frank Flores, a deputy with the Yuma County Sheriff’s Department and lead advisor for the YCLEEA. “It gives them an opportunity to observe what we do and decide if it’s a career they want to choose.”
