Waratah village police pursue a citizen after he escaped custody for causing a public disturbance July 21. More than 40 Australian soldiers and U.S. Marines are actively participating in Talisman Saber 2013 as role-players of Waratah, a mock village designed to teach service members participating in the exercise to establish a successful relationship with a community not accustomed to foreign aid. Talisman Saber enhances multilateral collaboration between U.S. and Australian forces in support of future combined operations, humanitarian assistance and natural disaster response.
