Steelworker 1st Class Angel Cano, from El Paso, Texas, plays with schoolchildren before leaving the construction site at Simpucan Elementary School. Cano is a Seabee assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 5’s Construction Civic Action Detail Philippines, which are currently building a two classroom building for the school. Seabees conduct CCAD operations in order to demonstrate U.S. commitment, develop enduring relationships, improve public infrastructure for the delivery of essential services and strengthen local institutions with host and partner nations around the world.
