Two Spartans hang up their shields

2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division Public Affairs

FORT STEWART, Ga. - The 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team “Spartans”, 3rd Infantry Division, hosted the 3rd ID’s Retirement Ceremony here at Club Stewart, Jan. 30.

Col. Scott Jackson, commander, 2nd ABCT, presided as the ceremony’s key-note-speaker.

Of the 11 personnel there to be recognized for their many years of service two were from the Spartan Brigade.

First Sgt. Cynthia Moody and Sgt. 1st Class Dionicio Napier, respectively of Headquarters and Headquarters Company and 1st Battalion, 9th Field Artillery Regiment, both units subordinate of the 2nd ABCT, were recognized for their service.

Many were in attendance to bid the retirees a fond farewell.

Between the 11 retirees, the Army lost 275 years worth of experience.
