Duluth, Ga.’s 2nd Lt. Francis Kim, platoon leader for Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment, based in Griffin, Ga., looks on as 2nd Lt. Teale Marchette shows key features on the sand table before executing an exercise at eXportable Combat Training Capabilities (XCTC). XCTC is a field-training instrument designed to give soldiers the tangible experience of real missions they may encounter overseas. “I’m excited about the live-fire mission we will be conducting tomorrow,” said Kim, “I’m looking forward to leading the platoon into a combat environment.”
