KHAWR AL AMAYA OIL TERMINAL, North Arabian Gulf -- Spent .50 caliber shell casings litter the deck aboard as Gunner's Mate 2nd Class Elizabeth Campos, a native of Milwaukee, Wis., prepares the .50 caliber machine gun for another round of test firing. Campos is assigned to the Norfolk, Va.-based Mobile Security Detachment 25 (MSD 25) aboard Iraq's Khawr Al Amaya oil terminal. MSD 25, part of a multinational coalition conducting maritime security operations (MSO), is working directly with Iraqi maritime forces to prevent attacks against the oil terminals that provide a significant source of Iraq's revenue. MSO set the conditions for security and stability in the maritime environment as well as complement the counter-terrorism and security efforts of regional nations. MSO deny international terrorists use of the maritime environment as a venue for attack or to transport personnel, weapons, or other material. U.S. Navy photo by Chief Journalist Tom Jones.
