Master Gunnery Sgt. Kathrine Scoffield, left, and Master Sgt. Mark McArthur, right, encourage a man to continue doing pull-ups during the 2013 Fan Festival for the 40th annual Bayou Classic on Nov. 30, 2013, in the Champion Square in New Orleans. The Marines staged a tent at the festival, and anyone who approached was able to test their upper-body strength on the pull-up bars and speak with Marine recruiters about the many benefits of military service. For 39 years, the Bayou Classic has showcased the long-standing rivalry between the Southern University Jaguars and the Gambling State University Tigers. The United States Marine Corps has been a partner of the Bayou Classic for 13 consecutive years in celebration of the hard work, courage and commitment to excellence exhibited by its many participants.
