Marines with 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, move forward to clear buildings in a simulated town during Exercise Steel Knight 2014 here, Dec. 10, 2013. Urban Terrain training reinforces close combat tactics and prepares Marines to swiftly and carefully move among buildings and obstacles. Steel Knight is a large-scale, combined arms, live fire exercise integrating the ground combat element from 1st Marine Division with aviation and logistical support from 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing and 1st Marine Logistics Group, enabling I Marine Expeditionary Force to test and refine its command and control capabilities while honing its conventional warfighting skills.
