Lance Cpl. Andres J. Gonzales posts security March 4 during a culminating field event as part of Exercise Forest Light 14-2 at Sekiyama Training Area in Niigata prefecture, Japan. The three-day field training was the final test for the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members and U.S. Marines participating in the bilateral exercise. The training assessed the cold-weather tactics and survival skills learned throughout Forest Light. Gonzales is a rifleman with Company I, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
