Capt. David T. Fenbert, left, and 1st Lt. Samuel C. The three-day field training tested the cold-weather tactics and survival skills learned throughout the exercise. Fenbert is the company commander and Carlson is a platoon commander with Company I, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
