Two Soldiers from Company E, 4th Battalion, 4th Aviation Regiment, Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, refuel an AH-64D Apache attack helicopter using an Advanced Aviation Forward Area Refueling System during a training exercise at Camp Taji on Nov. 24. The AAFARS consists of multiple, high capacity collapsible fuel drums powered by a 17 Shaft Horse Power engine capable of pumping 240 gallons-per-minute. The system is characterized as extremely beneficial in a combat environment due its small size, reliability and ease of use. Soldiers from the brigade have been conducting the refueling exercises throughout the month of November.
