Dominica Marine Police Constable Drew Charles inspects his gear on June 3 in preparation for a training dive to inspect the hull of the U.S. Army New Orleans. Charles and members of the Coast Guard, Navy and Marine Police units of 11 Caribbean nations were trained in diving techniques to help standardize procedures in search and inspection methods to locate possible mines or fittings placed by means of sabotage. The New Orleans was docked in Antigua for Tradewinds, a joint, combined, exercise conducted in conjunction with partner nations to enhance the collective abilities of defense forces and constabularies to counter transnational organized crime and to conduct humanitarian/disaster relief operations.
