Pfc. David Wilson, a aviation operations specialist assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company “Hammer,” 1st Brigade Combat Team “Ironhorse,” 1st Cavalry Division, tests his strength in a tug-of-war contest during the Single Soldier’s Fest hosted by Fort Hood’s Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers, June 13 at Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area. Wilson said he likes the BOSS program because it allows single Soldiers to get together and meet new friends. It turns out that Wilson, a Lompoc, California native, ran into an old friend from high school while playing tug-of-war and had a chance to catch up with him. “It was a nice surprise,” Wilson said.
