Vice Gov. Kurayoshi Takara addresses an audience July 15 on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma during Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152’s take off ceremony. The ceremony commemorates the beginning of VMGR-152’s transfer to MCAS Iwakuni as part of the Marine Corps and Government of Japan’s bilateral effort to reduce impact to communities surrounding MCAS Futenma, realign the presence and distribute the activities of U.S. forces in Japan. Takara spoke about the long process that made the event possible. Takara is the vice governor of Okinawa prefecture. VMGR-152 is with Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Pete Sanders/Released)
