Brig. Gen. Paul J. Kennedy, far right, addresses an audience July 15 on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma during Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 152’s take off ceremony. The ceremony commemorates the beginning of VMGR-152’s transfer to MCAS Iwakuni as part of the Marine Corps and Government of Japan’s bilateral effort to reduce impact to communities around MCAS Futenma, realign the presence and distribute the activities of U.S. forces in Japan. Kennedy is the deputy commanding general of III Marine Expeditionary Force and commanding general of 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade.
