Kyle Figarelle, a CH-47 Chinook helicopter mechanic with Delta Company of the 1-189th Aviation Battalion, practices digging a snow cave while waiting for the next class to start during a cold weather survival training exercise held on top of McDonald Pass in January. Soldiers from the Delta and Charlie company of the 1-189th and from the 190th Chemical Reconnissance Detachment bundled up to spend they day out in the cold, training on an assortment of winter survival skills.
