    Chief Warrant Officer Robert Vaughn, Battalion Aviation Life Support officer with the 1-189th, teaches a class on emergency signaling devices during a cold weather survival training exercise held in January on top of McDonald Pass. Vaughn displayed several devices found in the aviation survival kit known as the Aircraft Module Survival System, or AMSS, such as flares, mirrors, orange panels, and an infra red device called the Firefly.
