James Puttler, U.S. 7th Fleet chaplain, while clearing a lot for the construction of a playground during the Gawad Kalinga community relations project. Gawad Kalinga is a community outreach program that seeks to provide homes for the homeless, food for the hungry, land for the landless, and a sense of dignity and peace for all Filipinos. Blue Ridge serves under Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group 7/Task Force 76, the Navy's only forward deployed amphibious force.
