Sgt. Darius Bennett, a Tyler, Texas, native, and a member of Bravo Battery, 4th Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade based in Grafenwohr, Germany, demonstrated how to clean the barrel of an m119 A2 howitzer for Fire Support Company, Land Force Infantry Brigade, Latvia, who were on hand for U.S. weapons familiarization. “In the Spring, we saw Estonian large-scale weapons and how they work”, said Pfc. Zanis Jermolajevs of the Fire Support Company. “It was interesting to compare how they work and how the Americans work and how we work,” he went on to say. The 173rd Airborne Brigade is currently rotating through the Baltic States in a series of land force training activities that bolster synchronization of techniques with NATO allies.
