Pfc. Zanis Jermolajevs of Fire Support Company, Land Force Infantry Brigade, Latvia, explains his job description to 2nd. Lt. Gregory Burkeen, a Miami native, of Bravo Battery, 4th Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade based in Grafenwohr, Germany, while they sit at a table inside the mobile Latvian Field Direction Center, September 25. The two Soldiers compared equipment and techniques during an orientation event involving Latvian and U.S. Soldiers. “It was interesting for me to compare what I do every day at work with what he does”, said Jermolajevs. The 173rd Airborne Brigade is participating in Operation Atlantic Resolve, which is a series of multinational training activities that demonstrate the U.S. commitment to NATO allies.
