A line of vehicles with the motor transport platoon, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, based out of Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kaneohe Bay, stops in its tracks after one of the vehicles detonated a simulated improvised explosion device on the training ranges outside of Yuma, Ariz., Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014. The IED was utilized during an advanced convoy exercise for the motor transport platoon, and was not present during the Marines’ initial rehearsal of the exercise. It was added by the staff to surprise the motor transport specialists and add depth to the evolution of the exercise.
