Marines with the motor transport platoon, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, based out of Marine Corps Base Hawaii Kaneohe Bay, strap a simulated casualty into a stretcher during the simulated improvised explosive device encounter of their advanced convoy exercise on the training ranges surrounding Yuma, Ariz., Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014. The IED was not present during the Marines’ initial rehearsal of the exercise, and was added by the staff to surprise the motor transport specialists and add depth to the evolution of the exercise.
