A kitten sounds-off in true military fashion having adopted the trouser pocket of a U.S. Army soldier as his new home. The event was captured at a veterinary civic action project in the town of San Juan in Samar, Philippines 21 June. A team of military and volunteer veterinary specialists came to the area from the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH-19) and conducted the project as part of Pacific Partnership 2012. Now in its seventh year, Pacific Partnership is an annual U.S. Pacific Fleet humanitarian and civic assistance mission that brings together U.S. military personnel, host and partner nations, non-government organizations and international agencies to build stronger relationships and develop disaster response capabilities throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
