Sgt. 1st Class Nathan Lacey, a Soldier with the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team “Spartans,” 3rd Infantry Division, climbs a rope at one of the obstacles during “Spartan Forge,” a team event centered around completion of the obstacle course and various other physical challenges during the second day of “Spartan Week,” July 15. Spartan Week was a week-long event where each day held a set of new challenges and competitive events. The events ranged from sporting tournaments to battle-focused events and were designed to challenge even those of the greatest strength and spirit. Each battalion within the brigade fielded at least one team for each event and competed for the lofty title of “Best Battalion” within the Brigade. (U.S. Army Photo by Staff Sgt.
