Alexander Hauser (left), of 2-3 Brigade Special Troops Battalion, both of the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team “Spartans,” 3rd Infantry Division, push an armored Humvee 100 yards to become the winners of the “Spartan 1000,” a multi-exercise challenge, held here on the fourth day of “Spartan Week,” July 17. The Spartan 1000 was a two-man team event, which consisted of 100 pullups, 100 wall balls, 100 yard tire flips, 100 yard SKEDCO pull, 100 yard tire drag, 100 pile drivers 200 yard sandbag throws, 100 yard water jug carry, and ended with a 100 yard armored Humvee push done by each team. The Spartan 1000 was just one event held on day four of the five-day “Spartan Week” competition. Spartan Week was a weeklong event, where each day held a set of new challenges and competitive events. The events ranged from sporting tournaments to battle-focused events, and were designed to challenge even those of the greatest strength and spirit. Each battalion within the brigade fielded at least one team for each event, and competed for the lofty title of “Best Battalion” within the brigade. (U.S. Army Photo by Staff Sgt.
