Soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team “Spartans,” 3rd Infantry Division, pull a weighted SKEDCO litter during a Battle Focused Triathlon here, July 16. The BFT was a team event, which consisted a pushup/situp challenge, a full-kit one-mile run, and a stress shoot of three different weapons while pulling a weighted SKEDCO to each shooting station. The triathlon was just one event held on day three of the five-day “Spartan Week” competition. Spartan Week was a weeklong event, where each day held a set of new challenges and competitive events. The events ranged from sporting tournaments to battle-focused events, and were designed to challenge even those of the greatest strength and spirit. Each battalion within the brigade fielded at least one team for each event, and competed for the lofty title of “Best Battalion” within the brigade. (U.S. Army Photo by Staff Sgt.
