A Soldier with the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team “Spartans,” 3rd Infantry Division, throws a spear rather than a javelin for a unique take on a track and field challenge during the first day of “Spartan Week,” July 14. Spartan Week was a weeklong event, where each day held a set of new challenges and competitive events. The events ranged from sporting tournaments to battle-focused events, and were designed to challenge even those of the greatest strength and spirit. Each battalion within the brigade fielded at least one team for each event, and competed for the lofty title of “Best Battalion” within the Brigade. (U.S. Army Photo by Staff Sgt.
