Staff Sgt. Brian Jacobson, Task Force 34 headquarters aviation operations non-commissioned officer from Lake City, Minn., received a Meritorious Service Medal at an award ceremony on Joint Base Balad, Iraq, on May 6. Awards were given by Lt. Col. Darryl Ducharme, Task Force 34 deputy commanding officer. The Meritorious Service Medal is given to those who have distinguished themselves by outstanding non-combat meritorious achievement in a designated combat theater.
