    III Marine Expeditionary Force   

    Sgt. Timothy D. Brown supervises as Cpl. Avanti J. Smothers shoots a Taser Dec. 16 on Camp Hansen. Tasers are one of the nonlethal weapons used for crowd control. The Taser is designed to immobilize the body without causing damage. Brown, from Hampton, Virginia, is a nonlethal weapons instructor with 3rd Law Enforcement Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, III MEF.
