Marines navigate down a street with nonlethal weapons and personal protective equipment Dec. 18 at the Central Training Area during a nonlethal weapons and riot control training. The objective was to move a formation from one building at the CTA to another, about 200 meters away, while dealing with Marines role playing as rioters along the way. The Marines’ goal was to move past a group of role playing rioters with as little altercation as possible. The role playing group included some passive aggressive up to moderately aggressive rioters. Both groups of Marines are with Fox Battery, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, currently attached to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
