Sgt. Jake Matz discusses training with Marines Dec. 18 at the Central Training Area after a riot control exercise. Marines practiced moving in a crowd control formation and also holding a position against aggressive rioters. Matz, from Hastings, Minnesota, a nonlethal weapons and riot control instructor with 3rd Law Enforcement Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, III MEF instructed Marines with Fox Battery, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, currently attached to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
