Dragoons of Iron Troop, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, pose for photos with citizens of Iecava, Latvia during a maintenance stop March 23. The troopers are also holding hand-painted cardboard signs that say "Peace," "NATO," and "Uzvara" which means victory in Latvian and it's also a place name. The 2nd CR is conducting a Dragoon Ride from Tapa, Estonia, where they have been training with the Estonian Army for three months as a part of Operation Atlantic Resolve to their home base in Vilseck, Germany.
Operation Atlantic Resolve is a demonstration of continued U.S. commitment to the collective security of NATO and to enduring peace and stability in the Baltic Region. Enhanced land force multi-national training and security cooperation activities take place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Romania to ensure multi-national interoperability and strengthen relationships among allied militaries.
