Lithuanian citizens of Marijampole, Lithuania, flooded the parking lot of a local Maxima supermarket March 24 to see a static display of U.S. and Lithuanian Army vehicles including the Strykers of Iron Troop, 2nd Cavalry Regiment. The 2nd CR is conducting a Dragoon Ride from Tapa, Estonia, where they have been training with the Estonian Army for three months as a part of Operation Atlantic Resolve to their home base in Vilseck, Germany. Here, children, for whom school was let out for this event, gather on the top of one of the Strykers with assistance from the Troopers.
Operation Atlantic Resolve is a demonstration of continued U.S. commitment to the collective security of NATO and to enduring peace and stability in the Baltic Region. Enhanced land force multi-national training and security cooperation activities take place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Romania to ensure multi-national interoperability and strengthen relationships among allied militaries.
