A Soldier of Christiansburg-based Company C, 1st Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Virginia Army National Guard confers with a scout of Lynchburg-based Headquarters Company during a movement to contact evaluation June 10, 2015, in Fort Drum, N.Y. The evaluation was part of the Multi-echelon Integrated Brigade Training exercise that the 116th IBCT is participating in during their two-week annual training. The exercise is being overseen by First Army East, a division responsible for training Reserve and National Guard units for their ready year. Company C had integrated the scouts, combat engineers from Fredericksburg-based Company A, 116th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, and joint terminal attack controllers from the 118th Air Support Operations Squadron, North Carolina Air National Guard based in Albermale, N.C. Infantry troops from Fort Drum’s 10th Mountain Division upped the exercise tempo as opposing forces. (National Guard photo by Sgt. JoAnna Greene/ Released)
