A soldier of Franklin-based Company D, 429th Brigade Support Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Virginia Army National Guard provides security while his fellow soldiers treat simulated casualties during a company defense exercise June 14, 2015, at Fort Drum, NY. The exercise was one of many during the 116th IBCT’s Multi-echelon Integrated Brigade Training overseen by First Army Division East, a division responsible for training Reserve and National Guard troops ahead of their ready year.
