150313-N-VJ151-009 NORFOLK (March 13, 2015) A moment of silence was held in memory of Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Mark Mayo prior to Naval Station Norfolk’s St. Patrick’s Day Run for the Green 5K. Mayo was slain in the line of duty while saving the lives of four shipmates aboard USS Mahan (DDG 72), while serving as a Naval Station Norfolk Security Detachment chief of the guard on March 24, 2014.
