U.S. Marine Martin Chandler, a 2005 Pacific High School graduate, was promoted to the rank of sergeant, Oct. 1, at Camp Pendleton, Calif., where he is currently stationed. A native of San Bernardino, Calif., Chandler shipped to boot camp on July 5, 2005, and graduated from San Diego's Marine Corps Recruit Depot, later that year. Chandler currently serves as an intelligence analyst with 1st Marine Division. Chandler's plans for the future are to continue to "stay Marine," and attain a college degree, while doing so. Chandler's favorite things about being in the Corps are "the camaraderie, the esprit de corps, and the honor of holding the title: United States Marine."
