Capt. Jeremy Patrick performs a walk-around inspection of a KC-135R/T Stratotanker. each one of its four CFM International CFM-56 turbofan engines produce 21,634 pounds of thrust. If necessary, the aircraft can cruise and land with just one engine. Capt Patrick is the aircraft commander. His crew and he, will be supporting an Operation Iraqi Freedom close air support mission by performing air refueling to coalition aircraft operating in central Iraq. He and his crew are deployed to the 340th Air Refueling Squadron, Southwest Asia. They are natives of Marion, Ill.; Albuquerque, NM; and Orlando , Fla.
