Eric K. Fanning, acting under secretary of the Army, observes a parachute pull demonstration at the Advanced Airborne School on Fort Bragg, N.C., Aug. 11. The parachute pull goes through each step, second-by-second, of the six-second deployment sequence of the T-11 parachute used by the 82nd Airborne Division. Fanning visited the post to observe both conventional and special operations capabilities first hand and to discuss concerns of the individual soldiers and commanders. Fort Bragg is the home of the nation's premier rapid deployment ground force, capable of deploying with little to no-notice anywhere in the world in 18 hours. (U.S. Army Photo by Staff Sgt.
