ARABIAN GULF (Aug. 19, 2015) Air Traffic Controller 2nd Class Daniel Young looks through the sights of an M4 semi-automatic rifle during a weapons familiarization class aboard Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Essex is the flagship of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
